Following an extensive search for missing woman Jenny Hall, officers sadly discovered a body in a remote area of Teesdale on Sunday 23 February. Formal identification has yet to take place.
County Durham and Darlington Police and Crime Commissioner Joy Allen said: “My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Jenny Hall at this unimaginably difficult time.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those officers and specialist agencies and volunteers who tirelessly helped in the search for Jenny over the past few days. Our mountain rescue teams have been working alongside officers on the ground, sharing their vast expertise during what have been extremely emotional and challenging circumstances.
“The response from the public has also been outstanding, and I am grateful to all those who shared appeals.
“This is not the outcome anyone would have wanted and my heart goes out to all those impacted.”
